Welcome! I’ve been meaning to start writing a blog for years, and now that I’m employed with no free time, it seemed like the perfect time to do it! I have no idea what is going to go on here, but it will probably be a mix of things I’ve done and opinions I have on the news and current affairs! This is a little page to tell you a bit about me, assuming you’re not my parents, who I suspect will be the only people who read this!
I’m James Cottrill, a 24 year old (this may be out of date, I’ll probably forget to change it!) former St Andrews student, living in London and working as a Strategy Analyst for a (very) small agency. I’ve been there for three months and I’m slowly getting the hang of this “real job” thing people kept talking about. For anyone who’s not yet got to that stage in life I wholeheartedly support putting it off for as long as possible!
I’m a massive foodie, so there will probably be a lot of posts about the different restaurants of London, and also an avid gin drinker, so there may be the occasional post about gin bars and martinis as I slowly ruin my liver. This blog is hopefully going to be the encouragement I need to go out and do more things in London, especially all the cultural things available!
I’ve been skiing since I was 5 and spent the last two seasons living in resorts in France and avoiding real life at all costs. Life inevitably caught up with me and I had to give up the mountains and return to the UK. Hopefully this year I’ll be competing in some of the Freeride World Qualifiers, if I have the money to go! Failing that I’m currently dreaming of a week ski touring in the fjords and mountains of Norway.
